Double Your Impact - Help Yellowstone Buffalo

Hundreds of bison are destroyed when they leave Yellowstone each winter because of a fear they might spread disease to cattle.

NWF negotiated with a landowner to retire more than 6,000 acres of grazing land along the Yellowstone River. It would transform an area that was once a death sentence for the buffalo into a migration path when hunger drives them in search of food.

A generous friend offered a $500,000 matching grant. But we need to raise an equal amount by the end of this summer.

Protect the Chukchi Sea Polar Bears

This month, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service issued legal protections to seven oil companies, saying it allow them to harm polar bears in Alaska's Chukchi Sea as they explored the area for oil and gas development.

Write the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Director, urging him to protect the Chukchi Sea polar bears, not big oil profits.

Bush Chooses Politics Over Climate Action

Photo of an offshore oil rig

By lifting the ban on drilling in our coastal waters, President Bush is using executive authority in a way that would make global warming worse and keep the U.S. addicted to oil for decades to come.

Calls for more drilling will do little to reduce the costs of gas at the pump.
